Harold Leighton, Creative Director at GKhair, could write a “Who’s Who” on his Hollywood stars clients including Julie Christie, Faye Dunaway, Joan Collins, Glenda Jackson, Raquel Welch, Jackie Bisset, Catherine Denuve and created Sharon Tate’s hair for her wedding to Roman Polanski.

Leighton’s illustrious career in the professional hair care industry began as Distributor for Europe and image consultant for Paul Mitchell and John Paul DeJoria, producing photo shoots for ‘John Paul Mitchell Systems’ from 1984 to 1996. Over the past 30 years, Leighton has worked as not only a top hairdresser, but also photographer, image consultant, and award-winning journalist in the UK and USA.

As a leader in the industry, Leighton has worked with the most coveted professional hairdressers from around the globe, including Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie, Anthony Mascola, Leonard Lewis, Michael Rasser, Sam McKnight, John Frieda, Nicky Clarke Alexandre, Jacques Dessange, Guillaume, Jean-Louis David, Didier, The Carita Sisters (France), Lluis LLongueras (Spain), Paul Mitchell, Roger Thompson, Kenneth Battel, and John Sahag (USA), to name a few. American hairdressing icons include Eugene Soulieiman, Guido, Oribe, Frederick Fekkai, Sally Herschberger,  and many others

Leighton has worked with some of the most prolific photographers and models. Photographers include David Bailey, Cecil Beaton, Terry O’Neil, Clive Arrowsmith, Helmut Newton, Ken Brower, Christophe Kutner, John Hedgcoe, Bert Stern, the late Terry Donovan, Norman Eales, and many more. Models include Jean Shrimpton to Kate Moss, to name a few. Leighton’s hair images have graced the pages of consumer and trade journals from around the world.

Leighton has photographed many celebrities including President Ford, actors James Coburn, Pierce Brosnan, Christopher Reeves, Martin Landau, Margeaux Hemmingway, Pamela Anderson, singer actor Roger Daltry, artist Pablo Picasso, Romero Britto, Princess Diana, Julian Lenon, as well Vidal Sassoon to Paul Mitchell, Jose Eber, John Sahag, Vivienne McKinder, Irvine Rusk, Nicholas French, Michael Gordon, Jason Kearns, David Raculiga, Gordon Nelson, Robert Lobetta, Antoinette Beenders, Trevor Sorbie.

Leighton has created and published three books, “From Salon to Celebrity” his first photographic book “The History of British Hairdressing 1950 to 2004″, which captured 74 of the best British hairdressers from around the world, living on both sides of the Atlantic. Published in Paris France by Seven Publications and Paris April 2004.

Since 2007, Harold has been writing a monthly column in “Atlantic Ave Magazine” and The Epoch Times published in 33 countries. In his new role as creative director and advisor at GKhair, he’s instrumental in launching distribution networks around the world, especially in the UK and has helped bring new GKhair formulas to markets worldwide. Leighton was a driving force with the launch of Van Tibolli’s, founder and CEO of GKhair, high style magazine Saudade, which is currently in its second issue.
